Non-Ablative Skin Tightening Treatment Description:

There are are two basic types of non-ablative Skin Tightening: Infrared (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF).

The IR application uses a broad spectrum of wavelengths usually spanning from between 700 and 2000nm. This spectrum is readily absorbed in water which results in deep dermal heating and the subsequent stimulation of collagen production within the treatment area.

The RF technology also produces deep dermal heating required for collagen development, but via radio frequency rather than IR. Most manufactures use one of these two technologies for non-ablative skin tightening. Syneron, the exception, combines both RF and Light-Based technologies into a single treatment head, which they have trademarked as the ELOS Treatment.
